do you also feel like the world is moving way too fast?

I’ve been wondering about that for years until I realized there’s no good in finding out the why behind that question. I was actually wasting precious time that could be better invested in learning how to slow down myself. not to a complete stop, mind you, but enough to evolve intentionally, on my own pace.

that’s the core of the open-air diaries.

this newsletter was created with the idea of sharing my findings on how to live a slower, more meaningful life without having to throw everything away and move to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. (although, that’s the dream, right?)

here, you’ll find:

  • essays and strategies on intentional living

  • stories of slow, meaningful progress

  • practical tech-free moments and boundaries

  • personal book insights, relatable reads and reflections on reading

  • reflections on small joys and daily moments

you’ll receive weekly emails that I guarantee will help you finally learn the art of slow living while keeping your city girl dreams.

hi, I’m maki.

I’m unhealthily passionate about words and coffee. as a journalist, content creator and writer, you can just imagine how much of my life revolves around words.

after moving to Montreal, Canada, and understanding that my life needed a drastic change, I decided to start with the one thing I could control: how fast I was moving.

writing is such a powerful tool of self-discovery and an amazing way to deepen conversations that I just couldn’t even look for any other way to translate what I’ve lived through and learned on the way.

I hope you like it here just as much as I already do.

take care,

maki.
